Tidal Sands Ring

Walking along the beach at low tide in the Kimberley, you often see a unique pattern left in the sand… Wave-sculpted ripples are represented in this design that goes all the way around.

The oscillating flow of water picks up grains of sand and sets them down in a process that eventually carves out grooves throughout the sandbed. What Jodi has done, is replicate this pattern on the ring by hand caving the groves in wax to imitate this movement, ensuring every ring is unique.
