Day One

Morning
Go where the locals go and ease into the day with a relaxed breakfast at Molly's Bake House, a secret garden tucked away in the heart of old Broome. Settle in among lush, tropical surrounds and enjoy great coffee alongside freshly baked treats. Our tip: try the cardamom scroll.

Spend a few hours exploring Broome’s historic old town - stroll through Chinatown, browse charming boutiques, and take in the unique blend of cultures that shaped the region. A visit to Jewels of the Kimberley is a must - this elegant showroom is a destination in its own right, offering bespoke, handcrafted pieces that make the perfect Kimberley memento. Be sure to glimpse master jeweller Jodi Penfold at work in her studio, tucked away at the back of the gallery.

Midday
Indulge in a leisurely lunch at The Bay Club at the Mangrove Hotel - perched above Roebuck Bay with one of the best views in Broome. Time it for midday to catch the high tide at its most dazzling, the water a vivid turquoise against the tropical surrounds. Order fresh Kimberley produce, settle into a day bed or cabana, and let the hours drift by. No bookings needed - just turn up and enjoy.

Refreshed from lunch, make your way over to Cable Beach. With 22 kilometres of pristine white sand, there’s no better place to swim, stroll, or simply unwind - a timeless Broome ritual.

Book a table at Cable Beach House and arrive early to enjoy pre-dinner drinks as the sun sinks into the sea, camels amble past and the old pearl lugger sails through the sunset. Settle in with one of their signature cocktails and take in the uninterrupted views stretching out across the Indian Ocean as the sky puts on a show. An extensive seafood menu showcases the very best of the Kimberley coast. Few places capture Broome’s magic quite like this - a spectacular end to an extraordinary first day.

If appetite allows, pair your tasting with a gourmet cheeseboard and enjoy an hour or two of pure indulgence.

Walk up to the lighthouse and meander along the timeless red cliffs, pausing to take in the sweeping views across the turquoise Indian Ocean as the afternoon light turns everything golden.

Afterward, lose yourself in Broome's thriving art scene with a leisurely gallery hop through town. The galleries here are world-class - a rich tapestry of Indigenous artworks, local photography, and one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect the unique culture and landscape of the Kimberley. Short Street Gallery is a must for its striking contemporary Indigenous art, Black Stump Gallery showcases a carefully curated mix of Kimberley-inspired works across various media, and Broome Gallery is worth a visit for the vivid, colour-drenched paintings of artist James Down alone. Take your time, and don't be surprised if you leave with something special.

Complete the evening with a visit to Sun Pictures, the world's oldest outdoor cinema and one of Broome's signature experiences. Sink into a vintage deck chair, choc-top in hand, and watch a film under the vast, star-filled Kimberley sky. A wonderfully nostalgic and uniquely Broome way to close out your final evening.
