Jewels of the Kimberley Named a Finalist in the Diamond Guild Australia Jewellery Awards

We are delighted to share that Jewels of the Kimberley has been named one of just three finalists in the Red Carpet category at the 9th Diamond Guild Australia Jewellery Awards.

Held biennially by the Diamond Guild Australia, a not-for-profit association of leading Australian jewellers and diamond professionals, the awards celebrate excellence, innovation and inspiration within the Australian jewellery industry. With ten categories spanning everything from Solitaire and Fancy Colour to Diamonds Reimagined and Diamonds for Everyday, the awards showcase some of the country’s most exciting work in diamond jewellery design.

To be named a finalist is a significant honour - particularly in the Red Carpet category, which celebrates jewellery designed to make an impact. With only three finalists selected, we’re incredibly proud to see Jewels of the Kimberley recognised alongside some of Australia’s finest jewellery designers.

In announcing this year’s finalists, the Guild shared: “The calibre of entries was of the highest standard and the judges found selecting the finalist pieces a real challenge, so be proud of your achievement.”

The pieces entered by Jewels of the Kimberley are truly special, and represent something quite different from anything master jeweller and creative director Jodi Penfold has crafted before. While they remain unmistakably connected to the distinctive design language of Jewels of the Kimberley, they explore new ideas, forms and possibilities - pushing Jodi’s creativity in an exciting new direction.

For Jodi, inspiration has always come from the extraordinary landscape surrounding her Broome workshop. From the rugged red cliffs and ochre earth to rippling sands, tropical waters and the rare natural diamonds found within the region, the Kimberley provides an endless source of shapes, textures and colour. Each piece is handcrafted in the Jewels of the Kimberley studio, transforming elements of this remarkable landscape into jewellery designed to be treasured for generations.

This latest collection gives Jodi an opportunity to take that creative process somewhere new. We’ll be revealing the finalist pieces slowly across our social channels in the lead-up to the awards gala in October, sharing glimpses of the jewellery and the stories, ideas and inspiration behind each piece along the way.

The winners will be announced at the 9th Diamond Guild Australia Jewellery Awards gala, where we’ll have the chance to celebrate not only this achievement, but the incredible depth of talent within Australia’s jewellery industry.
